Facilities Manager, Mill Creek (Full-Time)
Responsible for maintaining the overall operation, physical condition, appearance, and security of church/school facility in the engineering, landscaping, and custodial aspects. Ensures the facility is prepared for all events and uses. This is a Manager/Player role, productively working alone at times and responding to needs in all facilities aspects, as well as training and directing facilities staff in the same.
Experience and Knowledge Required
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing, with staff, vendors, and outside clients
- Possesses good leadership skills. Demonstrates good conflict resolution skills with church and school staff and the public, many times during stressful situations. Possess good problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with email and Microsoft Excel, and demonstrates computer savvy to learn and utilize various proprietary programs necessary to operate the Facilities Department.
- Must display good customer service skills
- An understanding of the basics of commercial cleaning: carpets, stripping, waxing, and buffing hard floors
- Supervisor/Manager role, 2 years’ experience preferred
- Must be able to set and achieve goals
- Able to multi-task and prioritize constantly shifting demands and work load.
- Demonstrates strong administrative and organizational abilities in order to plan and execute all responsibilities.
- Has valid driver’s license.
- A working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and drywall maintenance is preferred. Experience and ability to troubleshoot simple mechanical/HVAC problems is also preferred.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparation of properties for all events and uses. Involves communicating with event leaders and serving their needs
- Oversight of custodial operations and staff pertaining to cleaning of all office spaces, bathrooms, classrooms, meeting rooms, and auditoriums
- Trains, schedules and directs all Facilities Department employees in their responsibilities.
- Facilities HR: Hiring and terminations of staff (with consultation of Facilities Director)
- Time Sheet authorization
- Operation of fire and security alarms; responses to fire and security alarms
- Responds day or night to alarms and facility emergencies. Works with supervisor, Facilities Department employees, and church staff to minimize emergencies.
- Manage various facilities services and vendors when necessary including, but not limited to, janitorial, disposal, pest control, mechanical/HVAC, landscape, life safety systems, security systems, plumbing, roofing, and painting.
- Maintains a high level of excellence and quality in the execution of responsibilities and proactively seeks to improve the facility and department processes.

- Must enforce a high standard of excellence in the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility
- Oversees room and equipment requests in a room scheduling computerized system
- Facilitates the requested resources needed for Outside Clients
- Direct contact with outside vendors and/or staff members at all campuses in case of an emergency such as fire, water damage, etc.
- Schedule, oversee, and document the maintenance of all facility systems and equipment, relying on contracted services when necessary. Prioritize and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance work for all facility equipment.
- Ensure facility compliance with all applicable fire, safety and building codes.
- Schedule: Starting schedule is Sunday – Thursday, 40 hours per week and is subject to change. Position will require working Fridays and Saturdays occasionally, when demand arises.
