If you want to have a more positive, faith-filled and godly outlook on life, the first questions to ask yourself are: “What am I thinking about?  What am I looking at?”  Where you set your mind is one of the greatest influences on how you view life.  The old adage, “Do you see the cup half empty or half full?” really is a key to success in life.

Jesus said it this way in Luke 11:34: “The lamp of the body is the eye.  Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light.  But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.”  Jesus is telling us that the way we view the world we live in decides if we live a fulfilling and enjoyable life, or an empty and disappointing life.  Two people can go through the same difficult challenge, with one coming out better and the other coming out bitter.  The difference is how each one views the challenges they face.

This week as you face struggles, hard circumstances, difficult people, and any other things that may come your way, be quick to set your mind on positive and godly thoughts.  Instead of thinking, “What that person said really hurt me”, instead think, “They probably said that because they’re going through challenges of their own.”  Instead of trying to figure out why a difficult trial came your way, consider how you can grow stronger out of the trial.  As you view life with a more positive perspective, you’ll find that every day will open up opportunities for maturity and growth!
